The unwavering courage and faith of the seven Romanian bishop-martyrs illuminated the dark days of the communist regime in Romania. Their spirits remained unbroken, their faith a beacon of light. Their sacrifice was divinely recognized when they were beatified by Pope Francis in a moving ceremony at Câmpia Libertății (Freedom Field) in Blaj on June 2, 2019.
We are honored to host the relics of three of these blessed martyrs. Though only three relics are available due to the other four being buried in unknown graves, we honor and welcome the spirit of all seven. Their spiritual legacy now touches our lives as these sacred relics embark on a pilgrimage across the United States, bringing divine grace and inspiration.
This year, we are embarking on a special journey, visiting communities whose pastors attended the transformative 2023 Clergy Convocation at Holy Resurrection Monastery in Saint Nazianz, Wisconsin. Each stop promises blessings and spiritual renewal, offering a sacred encounter with the legacy of these holy martyrs.
Their presence, strength, and story of faith and sacrifice awaken something profound within us. As we venerate their relics, their spirit inspires us, guiding us to live with the same courage and dedication. Embrace this pilgrimage, and let it deepen your connection to these holy martyrs and the divine path they illuminate.
